I’m very excited about my new high-flavor low-fat recipes, and look forward to cooking with you soon. In addition to the menus listed, I have many new unpublished recipes for students who have studied with me in the past.
I use organic vegetables, fruits, grains, eggs and nuts; they taste better and are better for you. I personally shop for each class, hand selecting each ingredient. I interview every peach. Where were you grown? When were you picked? Are you organic? Are you good enough for my class tonight?
As a result the quality of ingredients we use in class are the very best available locally, and the resulting dinner or lunch is as delicious as it is healthy. Behind every great meal is a great shopper and that’s me. I’m the shopper – Karen Lee.
My New York City cooking classes are on Tuesday nights from 7:00 to 10:00 PM with a 6:00 to 7:00 PM optional early session at no extra charge during which time we practice knife skills and get a jump start on dinner. Daytime classes are available on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10:00 to 2:00 PM. Weekend classes are also available once a month on Saturday from 10:00 – 2:00 PM and Sunday from 12:00 – 4:00 PM. Each series consists of four cooking classes, four hours each, at the cost of $440.00. Single cooking classes are $120.00. We prepare and eat a delicious dinner or lunch at each class. Classes are limited to 11 students, allowing for full participation. Make-ups can be arranged if I am given two weeks notice ($10 rescheduling fee per student per class). Payment in advance is required by check or credit card.
All cooking classes are taught with the subtext of cook for taste, eat for health.
